Projects
Projects are their own item in the Agency admin sidebar, under Projects. The screen title is Projects, and the line under it is Manage your completed and ongoing projects.
The list and the form use the same layout as Services. What changes is the fields. The screenshots on this page are that shared layout. The columns and fields below are the project ones.
The list
New project adds a project. Show sets how many rows the page holds. The usual count is 10. Search filters the rows.
Each row shows:
- Project. The project title. When a client name is set, it sits on the line under the title.
- Category. The category the project belongs to.
- Status. The progress of the work: Completed, Planned, or In progress.
- Views. How many times the public page has been opened.
- Featured. A star when the project is marked featured.
- Active. Active when the project is in use.
- Date. The date shown for that row.
- Actions. Edit opens the form. Delete removes the row.
The line under the table states which rows are on the page, out of the full count. Previous and Next move between pages. The numbers between them are the pages.
Create and edit
New project opens an empty form. Edit on a row opens the same form with that project filled in. The screen title for a new record is New project, and the line under it is Add a new project.
The screenshot is the top of the form. The sections below sit on the same page.
Basic information
Category is required. It is a category from the projects group on Categories.
The language tabs come from Languages. The default language stays first, and the required fields on that tab have to be filled. This site currently has three languages, and English is the default, so English is the tab in front. Editing shows which language you are filling. Project title, slug, short description, and detailed description belong to that language.
Project title is required.
Slug is the unique segment used in the URL.
Short description is the line shown on the card.
Detailed description is the longer text, written in the editor on the form.
Tags. Type a tag and press Enter or comma.
Detail view
Detail view is where the public design is set. Use the default template, or build the page from sections, and shape the layout from there.
- Fields (default). The page uses the default template, built from the fields on this form.
- Sections. The page is built from sections.
- Hybrid (sections + content). The page keeps the sections and the written content together.
Client information
Client name is the name shown under the project title.
Client logo URL is the address of the client’s logo.
Images
Featured image is one image for the project. Click the area, or drag a file onto it. Choose from gallery uses an image that is already stored. The limit is 10 MB.
Gallery images are the extra images. More than one can be selected. The same limit applies to each file.
Links
Project URL is the address of the live project.
Date and status
Start date and End date are the span of the work.
Status is required. It is the progress of the work: Completed, Planned, or In progress. This is the status in the list’s Status column. The Active column is set under Settings.
Projects appear on the workflow screen and in a timeline section. Both place them by these dates. A year on the workflow page reads the same dates. Enter the start and the end as they really were.
Services and technologies
Provided services chooses the services delivered on this project. The search starts after two characters. The ones you select are shown as links on the project page.
That choice is the link between the service and the project. The project can then be shown as an example of the service. The same link is the Projects field on Services.
Technology name adds a technology used on the project.
Project details
Challenges, Solutions, and Features are the written detail of the work.
Settings
Order is the sequence. The form starts at 0.
Featured is the same mark the list shows with a star.
Status is whether the project is active. The list shows that in the Active column.
Cancel leaves the form without writing it. Save writes the project.
