Announcements

Announcements are their own item in the Agency admin sidebar, under Announcements. The screen title is Announcements, and the line under it is Manage the announcements shown in the header.

The list​

New announcement adds an announcement.

Each row shows:

  • Announcement text. The line the header types out.
  • Link. Where a click on that line goes.
  • Start date and End date. The period of the announcement.
  • Order. The sequence when more than one announcement is in use.
  • Status. Active when the announcement is in use.
  • Actions. Edit opens the form. Delete removes the row.

Create and edit​

New announcement opens an empty form. Edit on a row opens the same form with that announcement filled in. The screen title for a new record is New announcement, and the line under it is Create a new announcement to show in the header.

Announcement details​

The language tabs come from Languages. The default language stays first, and the required fields on that tab have to be filled. This site currently has three languages, and English is the default, so English is the tab in front. Editing shows which language you are filling. The announcement text belongs to that language.

Announcement text is required. It is the line the header shows with a typewriter effect. The letters are typed out in the header.

Link is optional. Enter a full URL, beginning with https://, or a path on the site, such as /contact. A click on the announcement goes to that address.

Start date and End date are the period of the announcement.

Order is the sequence. The form starts at 0. When more than one announcement is in use, this number sets which one comes first.

Active is the state the list shows for an announcement that is in use.

Cancel leaves the form without writing it. Save writes the announcement.
